I don’t know what it is about small towns, but they always seem to be home to the BEST little antique shops and boutiques. Pine and Strawberry are no exception! We love browsing the local shops to see what kinds of treasures we can find. Besides antiques, the local shops are great places to find locally grown and made goodies! Read ahead for a rundown of a few of our favorite shops.
Fancy Finds: this spot is a wonderful mix of old and new. Located in an historic house, you’ll love browsing all of the different options. From home furnishings and décor, to clothing, I’m sure you’ll find something!
Moose Mountain: Years ago, my aunt was the owner of this shop, so it holds a special place in my heart. I remember working there on the weekends as a teenager! These days, my girls are continuing the family tradition and have even set up their own little booth selling corn heating bags under the brand “The Unicorn Sisters.” Apart from that, you’ll find lots of other great items to browse and buy!
Rusty Pine Cone: This store is such a fun mountain gift shop. It’s definitely a great place to stop for souvenirs. While you’re there, you can get soft serve Gelato from Elky’s! Yum!
Pine-Strawberry Farmers Market: This is your one stop shop for delicious local food AND souvenirs! You can find homegrown veggies, fruit, jam, honey, home décor, and even The Strawberry Inn merch. Those of you who’ve been around a long time will remember the old days of the Fossil Creek Creamery and Llama Farm. You can purchase goat milk lotion at the farmers market that is made using the same recipe that Fossil Creek Creamery used! It’s the best.
Linda’s Treasures: This shop is the closest to the Inn. In fact, you could even walk there! Here, you’ll find upcycled items, antiques, souvenirs, crochet items, and more. The money from all crochet items goes directly to the Mountain Village Foundation, which supports Pine-Strawberry residents in need.
