So, you’ve booked your summer vacation to The Strawberry Inn. Now what? You may be wondering how to make the most out of your getaway. First, I suggest browsing the different categories on our blog. If hiking is your thing, we have blog posts on nearly every trail in the area. If you’re more of a shopper, we have posts all about that too!
But maybe you’re sitting there thinking “But Amber, I don’t have time to read dozens of posts to plan out my vacation activities!” I’ve got you covered there too – in this post, I’m sharing a few different sample itineraries for you to use to jumpstart your planning. Below, you’ll find itinerary ideas for the foodie, for the adventurer, and for the person looking to relax.
For the foodie:
Breakfast – The Early Bird is a local favorite with great food and great service!
Snacks – Empanadas from Pie Bar. Whether you prefer sweet or savory, there is a little something for everyone!
Lunch – The Weekender just relaunched and we’re so excited! They have a great menu and ambiance.
Dinner – Old County Inn. Get there early or plan on waiting a little bit for a table. If you do have to wait, grab a drink from the Tap Room and play some yard games.
Drinks – THAT Brewery is the spot to check out local beer!
Dessert – Soft serve gelato from Elky’s at The Rusty Pine Cone! Yum!
For the adventurer:
Hiking – There are literally dozens of fantastic hikes throughout the area for all different skill levels. A few of my favorite summer hikes: Colonel Devin Trail, Tonto Natural Bridge Waterfall Trail, and Water Wheel Falls. Click here for a complete list of all the hikes we’ve written about over the years!
Kayaking – There are multiple lakes in the area where you can take your kayaks out! Blue Ridge Reservoir is the closest, and is absolutely beautiful!
ATVs – If off-roading sounds like a good time to you, there are some really great spots to explore! Bring your own 4WD or rent a side-by-side from American Powersport Rentals in Payson. Check out this blog post for some tips for where to go off-roading!
For relaxation:
Movie night at the inn – On Friday and Saturday nights, weather permitting, we host community movie nights at the Lower Park Yard! It’s such a fun time for all ages. If you want to cast your vote for what we watch each weekend, make sure to keep an eye on our socials!
Yard games – All over the property, we have yard games for our guests to enjoy! Bring some snacks, and start a game of bags or ladder golf!
Books on the porch swing – We love our Little Free Library in front of the main Inn. Grab a book and curl up on the porch swing or in an Adirondack chair and wile away the hours getting lost in literature.
Scenic drives – I love going for drives when visiting new places! Rim Country has some gorgeous drives that you’ll absolutely love. Turn on your favorite road trip playlist, and enjoy!
If you don’t fit into one of these categories and still need some help figuring out how to maximize your time, give us a call! We’d love to help you plan! See you ‘berry soon!
