As much as we love The Strawberry Inn, we're travel junkies at heart and LOVE visiting other boutique hotels and learning all we can. That’s why we jumped at the opportunity to have a little stay-cation at The Scott Resort & Spa. The Scott is unique in that while it is part of a group of hotels (Classic Hotels & Resorts), each hotel has a completely unique design, and is managed directly by Classic Group to give each guest a beautiful botique experience!
The Scott is just a few minutes from our Scottsdale office, and being in the midst of our busy season, it was the perfect way to get a quick little vacation in, especially as we were celebrating our upcoming 10th wedding anniversary. The best part- our restored 1970 Bronco was able to make the trip since it was so close-by!
When we walked in, I was blown away by the atmosphere! I have never seen so many live plants inside a hotel before, talk about plant envy! The design created a lush, tropical vibe that I fell in love with (if you know me you know I'm a bit of a crazy plant lady, haha!). The aesthetic has layers of stunning details resulting in a Cuban, Bohemian vibe. It felt so restful walking through the entire property, like we were completely removed from the hustle of the city, which is actually just minutes away. Jasmine is one of my favorite plants- it actually does great in here in our desert heat, and it was such a treat to see it in bloom all over the property!
One of my favorite details was the Nespresso coffee cart in our room! Even on vacation, I need to caffeinate, and the set up was just gorgeous. Speaking of rooms, we got to stay in an upstairs room with a private balcony overlooking the pool. I loved it! The decor, lighting and finishes were absolutely perfect from top to bottom. We opted to have a kid-free night on Friday, and then our girls joined us for some family time on Saturday. Scroll down for our itinerary to get ideas of what to do when you plan your own getaway at The Scott!
Here’s a quick overview of how we spent our time during our weekend staycation. There were so many things we could have added to the list, and you truly never even need to leave the resort property! There is even a restaurant on site that we look forward to going back to check out – we didn’t have a chance during this trip.
Friday:
We got all checked in and headed to The Canal Club for cocktails. I loved the whole vibe of the bar and could have happily sipped on my pina colada and people watched all night! After drinks, we took some time to explore the property. I loved all of the beautiful little spots everywhere. It felt like every time we turned a corner, there was a gorgeous spot just begging for us to snap pictures in! After wandering the resort property, we went to Mastro’s City Hall for an incredible anniversary dinner. Make sure you tell them when you’re celebrating an anniversary – they have the best special dessert!
Saturday:
We got up early Saturday morning, and cruised Old Town Scottsdale in our vintage Bronco. We went to Shmooze for breakfast, and it was fantastic! We did a bit of window shopping at Fashion Square, and then headed back to the resort, where our girls joined us. We immediately went down to the pool for the entirety of the afternoon.
The pool area is AMAZING. There are two separate pools, each with a different vibe. There seemed to be a lot of fun bachelorette parties at one, and the other was a bit more subdued. We hung out at the second pool – I loved the beach entry and so did the girls! The weather was absolutely perfect. We managed to drag the girls away from the pool and headed to get pizza at Grimaldi’s. YUM! After that, we decided to be tourists in our hometown and walked around Old Town before topping off the evening with a visit to the iconic Sugar Bowl for dessert and arcade games.
I really can’t say enough good things about our weekend at The Scott! It was seriously the perfect staycation for us. If you’re looking for an in-town escape, or have guests coming to visit looking for a unique place to stay, this is it! We were able to snag a discount code for you, too! When you book, use this code 'STRAWBERRYINN' to save up to 20% on your booking (blackout dates may apply). Thanks for reading along all about our adventure – cheers to the next one!
